March 2008

Finally its Friday! I’m going away for a while. I foresee that it sure look like a bz weekend for me and my new NIKON.

To my two cousins, Happy Birthday to Haiqal on his 20th Birthday – 24th March and also Bazilah on her 18th Birthday – 27th Mar. I hope I get the days correct. Loads of present to buy today… :) and got special request for PS3…giler ke…mahal benda tu….

I’m going nuts soon……i hope things get better at work. So tired already….work tired and having fun tired is just so different.

Sometime the best person to spend time with when you are the edge, is no one but yourself. That’s just what I did.

bucketlist.jpg

Caught ‘The Bucket List’ - a movie that is very simple, heart-warming, sad *as usual, shed a tear or two or more maybe*, abt two terminally ill guys, both cancer-striken. Not that I’m abt to spoilt it but obviously both died at the end of the movie ok. But its quite alright, catch it on a weekday so you won’t pay so much for such a straight forward movie :)   And use you HSBC CC for another $1 off. So that’s just $7 as compared to the usual $9.50. Throw in the jumbo hotdog, and dinner is pretty much covered.

I just realized catching a movie a day before it officially released, somewhat like sneek peak is great. Movie scheduled to start at 710pm….guess what? It actually did. And it ended at 830pm. Isn’t it just very very punctual….Should do it again sometime…

I guess I’m feeling a bit on the edge, agitated, pissed all the same. But it sure felt better after a bit of unwinding. Suppose to go home today but didn’t. Needed a bit of air….The remedy was a simple movie, dinner and a cab ride home to ease things up a lil bit and I’m as good as new..or at least until the change of air *KL air* Balik kampung…..yeah yeah balik kampung :)

2nd time in my life I ever watched movie alone, first one was a huge mistake, Chinese movie at Tampines Mall waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back then…a movie abt some Shaolin Monk ..that cute botak kid…suppose to be with someone but last minute cancelled…i can’t remember who also. The 2nd one was just today…but today wasn’t a mistake…I just needed the space….but there’s not much diff in watching alone nor in groups. Probably it would make a diff if its a comedy. It just like watching DVD alone in my room. So no big deal…And I actually enjoyed it.

*yawn* time to hit the sack…

21 March 08, Friday – The Engagement Day

fscn0029.jpg

dscn0020.jpg
The Engagement Ring & A Fruit Hamper *I made this*

dscn0072.jpg
The engagement went smoothly. Very simple affair. We had a simple meal also thanks to the bride-to-be family, we had mee goreng, kuih dada, murtabak, puffs, and fruits for desserts ….and her mum made superb teh-tarik *my fav*. Those are my uncle and 2 close family friends being the wakil of The General. And that is Kak Yana’s granpa. Though we had quite a simple yet filling spread. After that we went for yet another round of treat *I insist*, first was Pagi Sore but unfortunately it was closed due to the Public Holiday….so we headed to Sakura International Buffet. I was hungry, ma quite alright, Abang being the recently crowned ‘Tunang Orang’ wasn’t hungry nor full. I was leaning on him being the manja sister while we sat at the restaurant and guess what he said… “Jgn buat mcm ni, aku tunang orang tau”. *translation – “Don’t be like this, I’m someone’s fiance“…I was like ‘hello!!! U R MY BROTHER..*eyes rolling*’…I can do it even if you are “laki orang” *translation-someone’s husband’*…duh!!! That’s my bro!…But all jokingly lah …of coz.
For $24++ per person, Sakura International sure have quite a spread but it was inclined somehow towards Japanese food like sushi and unagi *not a fan of neither*
dscn0143.jpg
UNAGI *very fishy smell and not quite fancy it*
dscn0139.jpg
dscn0138.jpg
Oyster *again, not my favourite*
And there a loads more which I’d rather load in Multiply coz i’m running out of patience loading image by image.
That’s about as much I do on Friday. One engagement is one too many :)
22 March 2008 – Saturday
Oh boy! I spent my time in town shopping around…but I did attempt to catch Pak Lang’s show at Spore Botanic Gardens. …after a bit of misadventure, yes….I missed it….so we decided to just hang out at Marina Square till close to midnite and take loads of pictures….it did get bored after a while …and Abang have to ‘bubble me’ at the last minutes. Lets just say my Saturday can be spent in a more useful manner. I probably should attempt to learn PLANNING….*sigh* ahahha
dscn0170.jpg
This is actually the WRONG carpark. But I paid $0.54 still.
dscn0176.jpg
We found the place…saw it on the direction board i.e. Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage…
dscn0179.jpg
*if i did managed to get there in time, I wonder how I would walk back in the dark*
but an attempt to walk the path was better not done ..coz almost maghrib time..and I don’t fancy walking in the woods at that timing..so we U-TURN, get in the car and tried the nearer carpark…but so many policemen telling us the carpark is FULL…so we tried yet again..but by the time we went round and round, Pak Lang’s slot was over….so we decided to proceed with our initial plan…and that’s the misadventure.
dscn0262.jpg
*looking farrrrrrrrrrrr* – actually, I’m just tired with all the walking….
dscn0266.jpg
*i think one of the best shot, no idea where the spark of light came from*
One of the many many photos I took last Saturday….
Why is there suddenly influx of photo….? BECAUSEEEEeeeeee…..I BOUGHT A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA…….

210320082618.jpg
All from the nearby Harvey Norman….And judy, no..no….judy, it wasn’t an Implusive Buying..i think through for a whole night…and I guess for $400, the camera serves its purpose and my needs :) Thanks for holding me back from buying it the night before at Great World Best Denki…. :)
Ok loads of other photos will be fed to my multiply..soon….
Back to the dungeon *work* tomorrow but no lah..it wasn’t so bad….Thanks to work I can get my pay and buy camera :) hhihihi..and thanks my dearest MAMA for paying the 50% :) So technically, I paid only $200 for the loads of devices…..And I picked Abang’s engagement day to buy it.
Ok nite nite everyone…
btw, P.Ramlee the musical is coming to Singapore in MAY 2008.
Don’t forget to catch it at the Esplanade
dscn0184.jpg
Oooohhh yeah! Wedding bells will ring *insya Allah* soon….and tomorrow, 21 March 2008, is Abang’s engagement day. No big fancy affair. Just a small group of representatives going to represent The General  aka Dad, to ask the girl’s hand in marriage :) Congratulation to my one and only, most dear brother, DD. Yes! yes! Despite getting on each others nerve a lot, fighting over the car, eating one anothers tidbits/junk food without permission, drinking my ribena-in-the-bottle then give me an empty bottle *yearsssss ago*, we no doubt love each other. Yes abg! If you happen to see this blog, I love you alright! Now i’ve said it! hhaha…. And Kak Yana is lucky to have him. I could say that. Well any sister could say tat to a brother’s girlfriend. But yes she’s lucky. Good luck to them both! :) Oh my, I’m finally getting a sister-in-law soon.
engagement.jpg
That’s the engagement ring from Tiffany & Co. Don’t ask how much lah ok….Let’s just say the Bride and Groom has got taste! :P
Platinum rings for engagement and diamond studded one for the big day. And I think the Bride gave the Groom one OMEGA watch. I guess that’s the arrangement. So all you cousins out there, be happy that we are finally having a wedding after donkey years….next in the throne *if we follow order of age* should be me….but I SERIOUSLY, HONESTLY, don’t know how tat is going to happen *praying praying*….*LOL*….so please save me the question like “Kak Nana bila pulak?” Ok plsssssssssss…..I want to get married alright but just not right after Abg DD…And also, at least let me find the Mr Right :) *got meh mr right?..mostly Mr Wrong have lah…tats the problem* hahahaha.
Wow! Wedding is a tough thing….especially when the only Groom’s sister is the appointed wedding planner……
Whatever it is, to my brother and fiancee, Selamat Bertunang!
Muacks! Muacks! Love you both!
Besides all those wedding & engagement thingy……As for those JuzB fans, they’ve got free events at Botanic Garden this weekend.

Liang Zhu (The Butterfly Lovers), one of the four classic Chinese folktales, is a story about the tragic romance between Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. In 2003, the People’s Republic of China applied formally for it to be included in UNESCO’s Proclamation of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

The story of the butterfly lovers has been depicted in many ancient Chinese literary works, the earliest being Liang Zai Yan’s The Records of Shi Dao Si Fan in early Tang dynasty. Thereafter, the story was frequently adapted in literary works during the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties. Liang Zhu was also commonly interpreted in various artistic forms, including Yue opera (also called Shaoxing opera), stage plays, movies, television shows, animations and musicals. The story is also a popular inspiration for dance, including ballet and modern dance.

The most popular and influential interpretation is the Liang Zhu Violin Concerto (or Butterfly Lovers’ Violin Concerto), a work for violin and orchestra. It was composed by Chinese composers He Zhanhao and Chen Gang, both graduates of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, in 1958. The piece has been the most musically symbolic retelling of the legend. It captures the romantic love and moving emotions of the protagonists as they fight against feudalism for their love, before eventually transforming into a pair of butterflies so that they can be together forever.

“Love & Destiny”- the closing ceremony dance musical for the Chinese Cultural Festival – is conceptualised based on the Liang Zhu Violin Concerto. Using the Botanic Gardens as the setting, “Love & Destiny” hopes to present this timeless tale through a harmonious blend of classical music, modern dance, singing, beat-boxing, Chinese clapper-talk, artistic gymnastics, costumes and props.

This production is produced, choreographed and conducted by Fan Dong Kai, Creative Director of the People’s Association (PA). Performing groups involved include PA Talents, Kebun Baru CC, Kym Rhythmic, Wufang Singapore, Juz B, Black Forest. Charles Wong, Chua Yi Fang and Goh Kah Woon will also be performing beat-box, solo vocal and Chinese clapper-talk respectively.

Today was my half-day off from work, I earned it becoz I worked half day over the weekend. My plan was simple, that is, to run as many errands as possible.

So here goes my so-called plan….

  1. Accompany judy for lunch *chicken rice special, AGAIN!*
  2. Go home a while
  3. Do some banking thingy
  4. Collect my Mothers’ Day tickets at Ain Society
  5. Meet Alfee to give him the rabbit accessories
  6. Hang around at airport while awaiting Abang’s return from Phuket

 Here is what actually happened….

  1. Accompany judy for lunch *chicken rice special, AGAIN!* [Makan Part 1]
  2. Go home a while eat again at home coz can’t resist the sambal chicken [Makan Part 2]
  3. Do some banking thingy
  4. Collect my Mothers’ Day tickets at Ain Society
  5. Meet Alfee to give him the rabbit accessories Hang around at granma’s place eat again the sambal goreng and ayam masak merah – two serving leh…*yum yum* [Makan Part 3]
  6. Hang around at airport while awaiting Abang’s return from Phuket
  7. After maghrib, left gram’s place to meet Elf and Pak Lang straight at the airport for dinner but since I’ve had my exceptionally heavy dinner, I just opt for desserts…massive attack! very massively full after all those eating. [Makan Part 4 - Desserts and a few bites of this and that]
  8. I decided to drop them far away from airport, figured i could kill some time waiting for abang and they also save on taxi fare going outbound from airport *u know all those extra charges*
  9. By the time I make a u-turned and reached airport, the flight information already reflected abang’s inbound flight is ‘Confirmed’, just in time, should land soon.
  10. And I found out there is Ya Kun Kaya Toast at T2, so I sat there for a cup of tea * can’t resist Ah kun* accompanied by my MP3, John Grisham’s The Partner and Teh-pok. [Makan Part 5 - at this stage, i only can afford to drink :P ] I sat for about 20 minutes before I decided to take a walk to see Belt 38 where abg should be exiting from.
  11. Then the lonnggg drive from East to West, drop kak yana, then we head on home
  12. Settled hawa CPF education scheme application and now i’m blogging….soon sleeping….

How’s that for my plan? Some people qoute, “Failing to Plan IS Planning to Fail“. Well, here is my personal qoute for all you out there, like me: No plan IS my Plan :)

For some weird reason, my plans usually doesn’t happen, so I hardly plan.

And for the benefits of all those personal Makan motivators who enjoy seeing me eat a lot, I have to report that I had FIVE heavy meals today….that’s a lot sey! Aren’t you ALL Judy and Pak Lang proud of me  for living up to my standards? Hahhaa….

Ok Ok off to bed already! *yawnnnnnnnnnn* Oh what a day! I did a whole lot of errands. but i left out paying my bills *sigh*

Home PC is ok now. As I had planned, me and zue met up to fix the pc. My graphic card is Kapoottt! So is the CPU battery! And altogether Ong charged me $100nett. But having the use of my pc again is of course, priceless. Attempt at salvaging my external hard-disk is out. So there goes loads of software and pictures *sigh*. While waiting for abt an hour, we hang out at KFC. We drove our own car, coz its gonna end late so I told zue that we just meet there straight and we can also head back home without having to drop each other off. Wah! Feel like Tokyo Drift ah..when both the car  was align at the traffic junction on a red light ….hahah….oh wat a feelinggggg!!! hahahaha…..Anyway, enough of hang out, I’ve still got to hook up the pc when i get home. I must warned Abang to NOT over-use my old pc. Oh yes, abang’s flight is due later at 11pm from Phuket. I’ve told him that I’m gonna pick him up as I don’t mind hanging out at the airport till so late. We gonna send Kak Yana home first…then we both go home. Why am i so nice? Because as I’m mentioned in my past entry, I love going to airport – hanging out, cafes there, food there especially the BREEKS there :P yum! yum! And driving at late hours usually very soothing and therapeutic :)

Before that, I’ve got to pick up the Mothers Day tickets *pak lang, zue, pls do the needful to pay me $$$$* heheh…. then send rabbit food to Alfee. Sounds like a whole load of plans. But its alright, coz tomorrow I’ve got to return Abang’s car :P Booo hooo! Enough of driving for now….but its nice to avoid the MRT crowd once in a while. But paying tearing carpark coupons is painful, especially for long hours. Feel like I’m tearing a dollar note each time.

And what’s with eye twitching endlessly….since past 2 days already….ehmmm…

How did I get to do all this today, because I’m on half day off day hehehehe….see the perks of doing Saturday work :)   I’m lovin’ it!

Ok lets get bz…then go lunch…then can scrammmmmmmmm!

Such a bright sunny day today but such a bad day also.Everything seems not right, neither is it wrong though. But fortunately, when I called home, mum told me she cook my favourite dishes so I’ve decided to go home straight after work – first, eat my dinner and meet up with Zoo(hehe!) I meant Zue. Yes that the correct spelling! We gonna send my PC for repair *even the PC is moody*….and I’ve taken the day off tomorrow, hoping to get some air from work *I sure hope so* Maybe I’m trying hard to bear with the tension of all things around me that its reaching the maximum load till I’m abt to snap. Not abt to detail out every single crap as my crap doesn’t makes it other peoples’ crap as well. So I save you all kind readers from the trouble of my mind :) For me, this is just passing cloud *more like my mind is very very cloudy* At times I use WORK as a remedy but obviously I need better avenues to channel this tensed muscle of mine – which only started this morning or so. Really needed some air today!

As for yesterday, yesterday I went out with my friend from KL who is in town and zue also, we had a splendid time yesterday – especially when we went shopping for her hubby’s boxer. *Am I not suppose to say this?* But it was a hilarious moment. Right, sha? Well, she’s not reading this, YET! But what the heck! Hahha….She’s one crazy gal nice to hang out with, same frequency, if you get what I mean. After hanging out, drop her off at hotel and then another drop point at CCK, then take a really slow drive home. The best thing is, I was totally burned out by the time I got back that I went to bed without any trouble. It was a good deep sleep without any dreams nor nightmare nor whatever it is you get when you sleep. Bliss!!!!

Simple weekend with family and friends! Wonderful!

Now I just want to get to the car and make my way home!!

After Ryan, who is almost 4 years old now, mama now is the nanny of Racheal, Ryan’s almost-8-mths old baby sister. Recently, we went shopping at Kiddy Palace to buy some baby booties for Racheal. It is common to buy such things right coz the baby’s feet tend to get cold. Me buy those stuff. But my dear friend Kiera, actually made those by knitting them.

See here…so cute….I can’t help but to blog abt it. Cute right? Well I like babies and all things related to it :D

Booties

Knitted material is actually thicker than the one I got from Kiddy Palace. Different colour some more. And this is Racheal in her baby cot, smiling at me of coz….the hair seems to take a looooong time to grow.

My sweetie pie
Ok tonight’s plan is Movie – Spiderwick Chronicles
SpiderWick
Discounted ticket $9.50 $5.00 pax. Since its cheaper, I bought 4 , Jude bought 2. Total of 6 for me, jude, pak lang, elf, eve, and linda.
Hope its a good movie!!!
Tomorrow is busy day, with agenda that includes Airport, Work, Tepak Sirih, Gram’s place…then wat else…….then I’m going for a spinning around…. :)
Sunday lagi happening i think…..
Toddle doo for now…..

For working my ass of this month alone, I get not one, but two pats on the back in the form of Dollar Appreciation. And when that is exchanged, I get 2 cups of pop-corn. Big deal..right? Of coz it is1 You have no idea the people working around here….getting a compliments means a lot…to me at least. So let me just enjoy the sunshine while its here shining on me. Coz someday…tat same sun might burn me :) ahaha….wah deeeeeeeeeep sia!!! *Crap Talk*

But anyways, here’s what the Dollar Appreciation Card says,
——————————————————-
Dear [my name goes here...heheh],

WOW! I’m impressed with your:
   – Teamwork
   – Integrity
   – Professionalism
Cheers!

[Name of my client *who gave that complement*]
——————————————————-

Two cards for me :)
Didn’t expect such compliments at all….it made my day…though its such a simple gestures of work being appreciated.

Thanks to KS and GL.

Qoute of the day – “If I treat everyone the same, then I treat no one special”

Oh yeah! I just got myself a Hyundai Tucson for the next 4 days coz Cik Jojo is on board Star Cruise for the next 4 days. Isn’t it wonderful? But the thing is, I ain’t going nowhere with the car. I’m at one of Singapore i.e.WEST side…..the car is the other end of Singapore – EAST side….

Trouble is, I have to pick up the car first from Tampines. Then drive all the way back to Jurong…then its free for me to use. The car is 3/4 full :D And this time Cik Jojo himself called me to give the ‘green-light’. That’s after he role-play on the phone being some police officer saying that I got a pending SAMAN….*phewwwww*…I actually fell for the trick coz I didn’t look at the caller ID to detect its a familiar number….

And considering the daily parking at office is abt $15 a day..i’m very unlikely to bring the car here. But then again …. next week..i got another 4 days with YellowBaby coz Abang is going to Phuket…yahoooooooooo!!!! So now tell me why do I need to buy my own car when all this ppl make me their CAReTAKER each time they go on holiday ya…Even if I consider weekend car, I’m in KL like 25% of the time..hahaha…..

Seriously….but then i did booked a test drive…but nobody actually call me back to confirm…….

Like a spoilt rich gal….*dream on, I’m neither SPOILT-nor-RICH*…hahahaha…

Here is one car for this week……
tucson.jpg

…and another one for next week…..
jazz.jpg

When my neighbour went to Australia, i even take care of her house, her aquarium fishes and of coz, her car – again.hahahha…..

So the good stuff doesn’t come easy …tat’s basically my point…..with great power comes great responsibilities…*spiderman’s uncle said so*….

you can drive all you want….but if anything happened, be prepared to pay….Bro always said this, “Pls remember all the PROTOCOLS”…tat’s his way of saying it.

On top of that, next Sat early in the morning I have to be the driver to send Abang to airport….*yawn* …my God the looooooooooong drive to T1 is gonna be draggy especially at 6am in the morning. But on the brighter side of things, I get to have Breeeksss for breakfast…..then I’m off to work again on Saturday…..then I shall make plans…

But then again, today is only Monday, I’m already thinking abt Saturday’s breakfast already….gessh!

Yet another long work week…..
